Srinagar, September 24: Jammu and Kashmir is likely to witness mainly dry weather until September 27, followed by the possibility of thunderstorms, lightning and squall activity on September 27 and 28, according to the latest forecast issued by the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The IMD’s subdivision-wise warning bulletin issued on Thursday has indicated no weather warning for J&K on September 25 and 26. However, thunderstorm, lightning and squall activity has been forecast for September 27 and 28. No warning has been issued for September 29 and 30.
For Srinagar, the forecast points to mainly clear weather on September 25, 26 and 27. Partly cloudy skies with the possibility of moderate rain or thunderstorms are expected on September 28 and 29.
In Jammu city, mainly clear skies are forecast from September 25 to 27, followed by partly cloudy conditions and a possibility of moderate rain or thunderstorms on September 28 and 29.
The IMD forecast suggests that weather conditions will remain relatively stable during the initial part of the period, while the chances of localized thunderstorm and lightning activity may increase around September 27-28.
Residents are advised to remain alert during thunderstorm activity and follow updates issued by the weather department.
