Jammu, Aug 23: Security forces launched a search operation along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district on Sunday after a suspected Pakistan-origin drone was reportedly spotted over forward villages, officials said.
The drone-like object was seen hovering over villages in the Bobiyan area of Hiranagar sector around 10:35 am before moving back towards Pakistan, officials said.
Following the sighting, security forces cordoned off the area and carried out an extensive search to rule out the possibility of weapons or narcotics being dropped by the drone.
However, no suspicious object or objectionable material was recovered during the operation, officials said.
