JAMMU JAN 09: Security forces have recovered a suspected “nano drone” from a border belt in Jammu district, prompting a detailed investigation into its origin and purpose. Officials said the device was found lying in the border area of Chakroi in the R S Pura sector after a local resident noticed it and alerted the authorities. Acting on the input, security personnel rushed to the spot, seized the suspected drone and initiated procedural checks and technical examination.
The area falls close to the International Border, and the recovery has raised concern over possible cross-border surveillance or smuggling attempts using small unmanned aerial vehicles. Officials added that an investigation has been launched to ascertain how the nano drone reached the area, whether it was operational, and if there is any larger network or pattern behind its presence.
