Lucknow, May 3: Taking potshots at the Samajwadi Party, Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on Sunday said the Saifai family’s “dream” of returning to power would remain unfulfilled even till 2047.
The comment adds to the ongoing war of words between the BJP leadership in the state and Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav, playing out on social media for the third day.
The latest round follows a picture shared by Yadav on X of the two deputy chief ministers, accompanied by the text: “Two stools together cannot make a chair.” According to political observers, this implies that the two leaders together could not become the chief minister.
Responding on X, Maurya said, “SP leader Akhilesh Yadav, those who cross all limits at your signal and serve ‘fake PDA’ are well recognised by the aware public of the state.”
He added, “Your language and conduct in the assembly are clearly reflected in the style and behaviour of your supporters, and this also exposes the real nature of your politics.”
Stepping up his attack, Maurya said, “It is clear that not just in 2027, but even till 2047, the Saifai family’s dream of becoming chief minister will remain unfulfilled. The entire history of the SP has been filled with dark pages of anarchy, oppression and hooliganism, which the people of the state will not accept again.
“Once again, the lotus will bloom in Uttar Pradesh and good governance will prevail.”
In another post, Maurya underscored the BJP’s unity, saying, ” Akhilesh Yadav ji, I advise you not to fall prey to misunderstandings. Under the capable leadership and guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, state president and Union Minister of State Pankaj Chaudhary and with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak and myself, the entire BJP leadership and every worker stand united like a rock.”
He further said, “Our resolve to wipe out the SP is firm. All your efforts to divide and capture power will come to nothing. The hooliganism and anarchy of the SP will be buried forever. The fate that you and your party faced in 2017 and 2022 will be even worse in 2027. Mark my words.”
