JAMMU: In strong protest against Pakistan’s provocations, anti-India conspiracies, and inflammatory statements, the Jammu & Kashmir unit of Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) on Friday held a massive demonstration in Jammu. Hundreds of party workers took to the streets and burned a “jackal-like effigy” of Pakistan, registering their firm opposition.
Leading the protest, Party State President Manish Sahni launched a sharp attack on Pakistan’s double standards. He said that on one hand, Pakistan pretends to advocate peace on international platforms, while on the other, it continues to promote infiltration and terrorism in Jammu & Kashmir. He further stated that recent threats targeting major cities like Kolkata, along with hollow warnings of nuclear attacks, expose Pakistan’s frustration and desperation.
On the occasion, Sahni strongly demanded the immediate implementation of a National Bunker Policy to further strengthen the security of the nation and the region. He emphasized that countries like Pakistan and China cannot be trusted, and in the changing nature of warfare, enemies may directly target cities and civilians. In such a scenario, bunkers have become essential for civilian safety.
He urged the Prime Minister, Union Home Minister, and the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu & Kashmir to establish a widespread network of modern “safe bunkers” across Jammu & Kashmir and other sensitive and border areas of the country to ensure the safety of civilians during emergencies.
A formal memorandum regarding the same has also been submitted.
