JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 29: Security forces have launched search operations at nearly a dozen locations across the border districts of Rajouri, Poonch and Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir following reports of suspicious movement, officials said on Tuesday.
The joint operations are being carried out by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army, CRPF and BSF in remote and densely forested areas of the three districts.
In Rajouri, searches are underway in Peer Khana, Potha Narota and Andh villages of Kalakote, as well as Thanda Pani and Kansar in Sunderbani.
In Kathua, security forces are conducting searches in Panjwari, Kathera and adjoining areas, while in Poonch, operations are underway in Upper Kasbalari, Theratopa, Nagal Gali, Kalaban and Patnateer in the Mendhar sector.
Security personnel are thoroughly combing forested areas, natural hideouts and other vulnerable locations as part of the ongoing operation.
Officials said there has been no contact with any suspected individuals so far. However, security forces are maintaining heightened vigilance and continuing coordinated searches to trace any suspicious movement and rule out the presence of terrorists or other anti-national elements.
The operations remain underway across the identified areas.
