Moscow, Feb 26: Russia’s State Duma has fired off an urgent appeal to France’s National Assembly, UK’s House of Commons, Germany’s Parliament, the European Parliament, and the UN, blasting Paris and London for reportedly planning to hand nuclear weapons components to Kyiv.
The move follows Tuesday’s bombshell from Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR) claiming the UK and France are gearing up to transfer nuclear arms. Duma lawmakers called it a “blatant violation” of international law—especially the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty—that could shove the world toward nuclear catastrophe.
Committee head Leonid Slutsky warned that such “thoughtless plans” risk catastrophic global escalation. “This would lead to a tragic outcome on a global scale,” the appeal stresses, urging Western leaders to back off.
