Jammu, Jul 24: RSS national executive member Indresh Kumar on Friday alleged that “foreign forces” had infiltrated the ongoing protests led by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP), urging climate activist Sonam Wangchuk to keep his movement “Indian” and calling on political parties to pursue “positive politics.”
Speaking to reporters in Jammu, Kumar claimed that Wangchuk and the CJP were separate entities and alleged that the latter was functioning as an “agency of foreign forces.”
“Sonam Wangchuk is one person, while the CJP is a different entity. His movement has been taken over by foreigners. He should ensure that his movement remains Indian and not become a puppet of foreign forces,” Kumar said.
He also cautioned young protesters against becoming “agents” of anti-national elements and urged them to remain vigilant.
Referring to Wangchuk ending his 26-day hunger strike, Kumar alleged that the protests had been diverted from the issue of the NEET examination for political purposes. Without presenting evidence, he claimed that “internal and external forces” were attempting to derail India’s progress and prevent it from emerging as a developed and educated nation.
Calling for constructive participation in nation-building, Kumar urged the youth to support development, innovation and education, stating that India had emerged as a global role model.
The RSS leader also accused Pakistan of continuing to sponsor violence in India and called on the neighbouring country to abandon policies aimed at destabilising India and instead work towards peace and development.
Speaking on the sidelines of a programme ahead of Kargil Vijay Diwas, Kumar paid tribute to the sacrifices of civilians, police personnel and armed forces, urging people to visit the Shaheed Stambh (Martyrs’ Memorial) on July 26 with the national flag to honour the nation’s heroes.
He appealed to citizens to focus on eliminating poverty, hunger, pollution and violence, while avoiding “negative politics” and supporting national unity and development.
