JAMMU, FEB 20: Nearly 92 restoration projects worth Rs 9.84 crore have been initiated across Marh Constituency following the 2025 floods.
Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary shared this update in the Legislative Assembly while responding to a query from Surinder Kumar. He noted that Rs 8.87 lakh under State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) norms was disbursed to 90 affected families.
Choudhary acknowledged the heavy losses in Marh due to last year’s floods, praising the district administration’s quick assessment and relief efforts. Priority SDRF aid was provided, supplemented by ration and essentials from the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) during the crisis.
The works—covering roads, bridges, water supply schemes (WSSs), power infrastructure, and more—fall under departments like PWD, PMGSY, JPDCL, PHE, JMC, and BDO offices in Mandal Phillian and Marh. Most temporary restorations are complete, with others progressing and the rest slated for July-August 2026.
