KATRA: Jammu and Kashmir Police arrested an alleged drug peddler and recovered heroin during a naka checking drive under the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan on Saturday.
The operation was carried out by the naka party of PCP Sool, Police Post Kakryal, under SSP Reasi Mukund Tibrewal, IPS.
Police identified the accused as Tony Kumar, son of Krishan Lal, resident of Kotla, Katra. He was stopped for checking, and 5.6 grams of heroin was recovered from his possession.
He was taken into custody and the contraband seized as per legal procedure.FIR No. 150/2026 has been registered at Police Station Katra under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act. Further investigation is underway.
The operation was led by PSI Akhilesh Khajuria, In-Charge Police Post Kakryal, and SHO Katra Insp. Ranjeet Singh Rao, under the supervision of SDPO Katra Dr. Bhishm Dubey, JKPS, and SP Katra Kameshwar Puri.
