NEW DELHI, JAN 17: The Rashtrapati Bhavan (Circuit 1), which offers visitors an exclusive tour of the iconic main building, will remain closed to the general public from January 21 to 29, 2026, in preparation for the Republic Day Parade and Beating Retreat Ceremony, according to an official statement from the President’s Secretariat issued on Saturday.
This temporary closure ensures seamless security arrangements and logistical preparations for the national celebrations. Circuit 1 provides a unique glimpse into the architectural grandeur and historical significance of the President’s residence, making it a popular attraction for tourists and history enthusiasts.
The grand Republic Day Parade unfolds annually along Kartavya Path, showcasing India’s military might, cultural diversity, and developmental achievements. The festivities culminate with the poignant Beating Retreat Ceremony on January 29 at Vijay Chowk, located at the western end of Kartavya Path, in close proximity to Rashtrapati Bhavan.
