Rajouri Mar 24 : The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has launched a three‑day mobile passport van service in Rajouri district to expedite the processing of passport applications and clear the existing backlog in this border area. The facility has been set up to bring passport services closer to residents, especially those in remote and far‑flung villages who face difficulty travelling to district passport offices.
The mobile van will provide on‑the‑spot assistance for form filling, document verification, biometric enrolment, and grievance redressal, reducing delays in issuance and renewals. Officials said the initiative is part of a broader push to digitise and decentralise consular services and improve service delivery in frontier districts of Jammu and Kashmir.
