Leh: The Drill Instructor Course was formally inaugurated today at the Police Training School (PTS), Stongsar. The course was inaugurated by the Principal, PTS Stongsar, Altaf Ahmad Shah, IPS, in the august presence of senior officers, marking the official commencement of the training programme.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by senior police officials and staff members, reflecting the importance of the course in enhancing the professional standards of police training and discipline.
Speaking on the occasion, Principal PTS highlighted the crucial role of drill instructors in shaping the discipline, coordination, and overall efficiency of police personnel. He stressed that drill training is not merely a ceremonial aspect but an essential component of policing, instilling teamwork, leadership, and a sense of responsibility among trainees.
The Drill Instructor Course aims to equip participants with advanced skills in parade drill, command techniques, physical training methods, and instructional abilities. The course is expected to strengthen the capacity of trainers who will, in turn, guide and mentor future batches of police recruits.
Senior officers present during the event also encouraged the participants to make full use of the training opportunity and uphold the values of professionalism, discipline, and dedication in service.
The inauguration of this course is seen as another significant step towards modernising and strengthening police training infrastructure at PTS Stongsar, ensuring that personnel are well-prepared to meet the challenges of maintaining law and order and serving the public effectively.
The course will continue in the coming days with structured sessions, practical drills, and evaluations aimed at producing highly skilled drill instructors for the force.
