Poonch, Jan 22: The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Poonch declared a high alert across the district ahead of a fresh active western disturbance, directing all health institutions to maintain 24×7 preparedness.
The Meteorological Department forecast widespread moderate rain, snowfall, and thunderstorms affecting Poonch from the evening of January 22 till January 31, 2026.
Block Medical Officers (BMOs) of Mandi, Mendhar, and Surankote must immediately report manpower, ambulance, and logistics availability. All staff and machinery remain on round-the-clock readiness with activated emergency control rooms for incident management.
Ambulances stand by while institutions function 24×7. Pregnant women with expected deliveries between January 20 and February 28, 2026, must shift to District Hospitals, CHCs, or designated delivery points for safe institutional births.
Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs) ensure no staff leaves stations; all leaves cancelled except maternity. Employees on leave must report back immediately.
