NEW DELHI, Jan 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday called upon industry and start-ups to prioritise quality and make excellence the benchmark of Indian manufacturing, urging the production of zero-defect goods.
Addressing the nation in his 130th episode of Mann ki Baat, the Prime Minister said Indian products must become synonymous with world-class quality across all sectors. “Let us resolve to improve the quality of whatever we manufacture. Be it textiles, technology, electronics or even packaging, an Indian product should stand for ‘top quality’,” he said.
Mr. Modi also praised the enthusiasm and innovation of young entrepreneurs, noting that India’s start-up journey, which began a decade ago in 2016, has transformed the country into the world’s third-largest start-up ecosystem.
“Today, Indian start-ups are truly out of the box. They are working in sectors that were unimaginable even 10 years ago,” he said, highlighting their presence in areas such as artificial intelligence, space, nuclear energy, semiconductors, mobility, green hydrogen and biotechnology.
“You name a sector and you will find an Indian start-up working there. I salute all my young friends who are associated with start-ups or aspire to launch one,” the Prime Minister added.
During the address, Mr. Modi also extended greetings to the nation on National Voters’ Day and the upcoming Republic Day. 🇮🇳
