New Delhi Feb 13 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Seva Teerth, the new Prime Minister’s Office complex, along with Kartavya Bhawan 1 & 2, signaling a transformative move away from the colonial-era South Block under the Central Vista Redevelopment Project.
This relocation—first since 1947—houses PMO in Seva Teerth-1 (theme: service), Cabinet Secretariat in Seva Teerth-2, and soon National Security Council Secretariat in Seva Teerth-3. Spanning 2,26,203 sq ft at ₹1,189 crore cost by Larsen & Toubro, it emphasizes modern, citizen-centric governance.
South/North Blocks will become ‘Yuge Yugeen Bharat Sangrahalaya’ museum, with French technical aid. PM addressed a public event post-unveiling, highlighting decolonization and efficiency.
The event coincides with New Delhi’s 95th anniversary as capital, aligning with Modi’s vision like renaming Rajpath to Kartavya Path.
