New Delhi, Aug 2: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched the ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan’, stressing that a drug-free and healthy youth population is essential for achieving the vision of a developed India.
Addressing the launch event virtually, the Prime Minister said the country’s youth must remain physically and mentally fit by staying away from all forms of substance abuse.
Describing the campaign as a national movement, Modi said it is aimed not only at protecting young people from drug addiction but also at strengthening families, society and the nation as a whole.
The campaign seeks to raise awareness about the harmful effects of substance abuse and encourage greater public participation in building a drug-free India.
The virtual launch was attended by a large gathering of young people representing Generation Z, coming just days after widespread student protests demanding reforms in the country’s public examination system.
