“Mimang-Si-Sjabstogs” camp reaches Phey village
Leh, Nov. 17: Acute water scarcity and long-pending road repairs dominated public interventions at a “Mimang-Si-Sjabstogs” (Administration at Your Doorstep) outreach camp held in Phey village on Monday, where residents confronted officials with core civic grievances while availing several on-spot services.
Village Nambardar Tsering Mutup opened the session by welcoming the Nodal Officer and departmental teams before outlining the community’s priority concerns — inadequate water supply, deteriorating roads, the need for a community hall and market space, gaps in JJM implementation, funding for primary school staff and a school bus, and delays in completing the village football ground. Poor network connectivity and MGNREGA-related complaints also surfaced prominently.
Nodal Officer Dorjey Gyatso, SE PWD-R&B, reminded residents that the campaign aims to bring governance to remote habitations and sought detailed updates from departments on work progress and bottlenecks. He directed officials handling medical services, water, social welfare, food and civil supplies, and cooperation to accelerate pending assignments, while asking all teams to document public grievances for timely redressal.
The camp delivered a round of immediate services: ration card enrolments with five new family additions and three corrections; Golden Card updates; NCD registration; and various online facilitation services. The medical team generated 15 ABHA cards and carried out basic health checks, including blood pressure, weight and height assessments. A yoga demonstration organised by the Health Department saw active participation from local women.
Officials also briefed villagers on government schemes and responded to queries on eligibility and procedures.
The outreach concluded with an assurance that the flagged issues — particularly those relating to water supply and road improvement — would be taken up on priority under the “Administration at Your Doorstep” initiative.
