Srinagar, Mar 30: Peoples Democratic Party leader and Pulwama MLA Waheed-ur-Rehman Para on Monday demanded urgent action on regularising nearly one lakh daily wagers in essential services like hospitals, ambulances, PHE, and irrigation, terming it a “humanitarian concern.”
Speaking to reporters outside the J&K Assembly, Para highlighted their decades of service without recognition or security. “This isn’t just about jobs—it’s about justice for workers denied employee status after 20-30 years.
Past measures like biometric ID and SRO provisions must be revived,” he said.
He urged all parties to unite for a phased regularisation process and called for administrative reforms, including new districts and divisions for better governance in remote areas, plus discussions on alcohol regulation aligned with public sentime
