Leh, Apr 23 : Reinforcing its focus on holistic healthcare, SNM Hospital Leh on Wednesday conducted a yoga session in its Medical Ward, with active participation from patients, attendants, and hospital staff.
The session was led by yoga instructor Sonam Yangdol, who guided participants through exercises aimed at reducing stress and improving overall well-being within the hospital environment.
According to hospital officials, the initiative forms part of a broader effort to integrate supportive wellness practices alongside conventional medical treatment. The session created a calm atmosphere in the ward, with participants engaging in breathing techniques and gentle movements designed to ease physical discomfort and mental strain.
Medical practitioners note that yoga can play a supportive role in patient care by helping to manage anxiety, improve blood circulation, enhance lung capacity, and assist in pain control. For individuals with chronic illnesses, regular practice may also contribute to better symptom management and an improved quality of life.
Authorities at the hospital stated that such sessions will continue to be organised regularly, underscoring their commitment to fostering a healing environment that addresses both physical and emotional health.
The participation of attendants and staff highlighted the inclusive nature of the initiative, promoting a shared sense of well-being across the hospital community.
