DUBAI, Dec 21: Pakistan clinched their first outright Men’s U-19 Asia Cup title with a dominant 191-run victory over India in the final at ICC Academy, powered by Sameer Minhas’ explosive 172 off 113 balls (17 fours, 9 sixes).
India, opting to field, restricted Pakistan to 347/8 but collapsed dramatically while chasing 348, folding for 156 in 26.2 overs after a promising 32/0 in two overs turned into 49/3 by 4.1 overs; openers Ayush Mhatre and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi fell cheaply, with no substantial partnerships except the last-wicket 36-run stand.
Pakistan’s bowlers dominated: Ali Raza claimed 4/42, while Mohammad Sayyam, Abdul Subhan, and Huzaifa Ahsan took two each; Minhas earned Player-of-the-Match and Player-of-the-Series honors, avenging their earlier group-stage loss to India.
