PAKISTAN DEC 31: India’s Operation Sindoor successfully destroyed nine Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror camps in Pakistan and PoK, prompting an admission from LeT deputy chief Saifullah Kasuri. Kasuri, mastermind of the April 22 Pahalgam attack that killed 26 civilians, called the strikes a “big mistake” while vowing LeT would never abandon its Kashmir mission. India also foiled Pakistan’s retaliatory drone attacks using advanced air defenses.
Operation Sindoor, launched May 7-10, targeted terror hubs linked to LeT, Jaish-e-Mohammed, and Hizbul Mujahideen, including Bahawalpur, Kotli, and Sawai camps. The Indian Army destroyed seven sites, while the Air Force hit two others, alongside LoC launch pads. Pakistan’s drone retaliation across Jammu & Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, and Gujarat was neutralized, with over 500 drones downed in 210 minutes.
At a public rally in Kasur, Punjab, Kasuri boasted of his global fame post-Pahalgam blame and threatened upheaval, claiming regions like Kashmir and Amritsar were “taken” from Pakistan. Flanked by sympathizers, he urged listening to LeT despite terror labels. Pakistani politicians have shared stages with him, highlighting ongoing terror support.
Saifullah Kasuri, a top LeT leader, has admitted that India’s Operation Sindoor hit terror infrastructure in Pakistan, even as he threatened New Delhi. Calling India’s strikes a “mistake,” he reiterated Lashkar’s Kashmir focus, saying the outfit would “never back down from the Kashmir mission.”
The operation reinforced India’s deterrence without civilian targets or escalation. Pakistan admitted strikes on its Nur Khan airbase via 80 drones, though claiming most intercepts. A ceasefire followed Pakistan DGMO’s outreach on May 10.
