JAMMU, MAR 1: Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday called on all communities to stay calm and preserve peace amid escalating tensions in Iran, including unconfirmed reports of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s killing.
In a post on X from his office, the CM expressed deep concern over the developments. He appealed to residents to shun any moves that could spark tension or unrest, stressing restraint and communal harmony.
The government is coordinating closely with India’s Ministry of External Affairs to protect J&K citizens, including students in Iran, he added.
Abdullah reaffirmed that the administration is vigilantly tracking the situation and fully committed to J&K’s interests and safety.
