GANDERBAL, MAY 10 : Omar Abdullah on Sunday visited Ganderbal and unveiled a major development package worth nearly ₹40 crore, including the foundation stone laying ceremony for Phase-I of the ambitious Sindh Riverfront Project.
During the visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated and reviewed several developmental and public welfare projects aimed at improving tourism, urban infrastructure and healthcare facilities in the district.
A major highlight of the programme was the launch of the first phase of the Sindh Riverfront Project, which is expected to boost tourism potential, beautify the area and create modern recreational spaces along the banks of the Sindh stream.
In a significant step towards strengthening healthcare services, Abdullah also inaugurated advanced DEXA Scan and Fibro Scan facilities at District Hospital Ganderbal. Officials said the addition of these modern diagnostic services would enhance patient care and reduce the need for referrals outside the district.
According to officials, the projects are part of the government’s broader initiative to upgrade civic amenities, healthcare infrastructure and tourism-related facilities across Central Kashmir.
Local residents and officials welcomed the new initiatives and expressed hope that the projects would accelerate development and improve essential public services in Ganderbal.
