New Delhi, May 12 : The National Testing Agency (NTA) has cancelled the NEET UG 2026 examination held on May 3 and announced that a fresh examination will be conducted on new dates to be notified later.
The decision was taken after inputs reviewed with central agencies and findings shared by law enforcement authorities indicated that the integrity of the examination process had been compromised.
The government has also decided to hand over the matter to the Central Bureau of Investigation for a detailed investigation.
The NTA clarified that candidates will not be required to register again for the re-examination and no additional examination fee will be charged. Existing registration details and exam centres will remain valid for the fresh test.
The agency also announced that examination fees already paid by students will be refunded.
