SRINAGAR, MAY 30 : Northern Army Commander Lt Gen Pratik Sharma visited forward-deployed units in the Kupwara sector on Friday to review operational preparedness and assess the effectiveness of the anti-infiltration grid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kashmir.
According to the Army’s Northern Command, the visit focused on evaluating security measures and operational readiness in the sensitive border sector.
During the visit, Lt Gen Sharma witnessed demonstrations of innovative technologies integrated into field operations, including the use of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) and Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (CUAS) alongside established operational procedures to enhance combat effectiveness along the LoC.
The Army Commander lauded troops for their resilience, courage and unwavering commitment while operating in challenging conditions. He emphasized the need for continuous improvement in battle drills and professional skills to ensure personnel remain technologically proficient, mentally resilient and tactically agile.
The visit underscored the Army’s continued focus on strengthening border security and maintaining a high state of operational readiness along the LoC.
