No Force Can Ever Secure Government Jobs For Terrorists’ Relatives In J&K Now, Says LG Sinha

JAMMU DEC 11 : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Thursday said the Union Territory has adopted a clear policy of offering government jobs only to families of terror victims, with no relief or employment for those connected to terrorism.

Speaking at an event in Jammu where he distributed appointment letters to 41 next of kin of terror victims, Sinha declared that “terror victims will get justice and jobs, and terrorists will get bullets”. Citing data presented in Parliament, he noted that 41,949 civilians were killed by terrorism and separatism up to 2019, and asserted that justice will now be directed to the “right people”, insisting that “no power on earth” can secure jobs for terrorists’ relatives in J&K.

The LG recounted the case of Naseeb Singh from Rajouri, whose father Dharam Singh and four others were killed by terrorists in 2005, saying the family had lived in fear and hardship for two decades and is only now seeing “a new dawn of hope”. He contrasted this with earlier governments, which he alleged had given jobs to many linked with terrorism and separatism, adding that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah, the administration has moved away from compromises made for “temporary peace”

Sinha said not only current cases but older incidents involving terror victims would be reopened so that all those responsible, on either side of the border, face strict punishment. He stressed that the administration is determined to dismantle the entire terror ecosystem and ensure accountability for past atrocities.

Along with the 41 appointments for terror victims’ families, letters were also given to 22 beneficiaries under age-relaxation provisions and 19 wards of police martyrs under compassionate appointment rules and the Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme. The LG recalled that on July 28 he had handed appointment letters to 94 next of kin of terror victims from Jammu division, bringing the total number of such beneficiary families to more than a hundred this year.
