Leh, Apr 1: In a move aimed at strengthening educational infrastructure in remote Ladakh, NHPC Limited’s Nimoo Bazgo Power Station has donated a Public Address System to Government High School Bazgo under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.
The handover, carried out under the leadership of Head of Project Sanjai Kumar Rai, is expected to improve communication within the school, facilitating assemblies, announcements and routine academic activities.
Officials said the initiative is part of NHPC’s continued outreach in the region, focusing on improving basic facilities in educational institutions. Addressing the occasion, Rai underlined the organisation’s commitment to supporting local communities through targeted interventions in the education sector.
He also indicated that work on constructing an additional classroom for the school is currently underway, a step that is expected to ease space constraints and provide a better learning environment for students.
The school administration welcomed the support, stating that the newly installed Public Address System would help streamline coordination among staff and students while also supporting extracurricular engagements.
NHPC has, over the years, undertaken several CSR initiatives across Ladakh, with emphasis on education, environmental sustainability and community welfare. Officials reiterated that such efforts would continue in line with the organisation’s broader social responsibility framework.
