Srinagar, July 9 : The Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Kashmir Crime Branch, in coordination with the Anti Narcotics Task Force (ANTF), Kashmir, destroyed a large quantity of seized narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances at the incineration facility in IGC Lassipora, Pulwama, on Wednesday.
The destruction was carried out following directions from the competent court and included seized contraband such as Charas, Ganja and psychotropic tablets recovered during various anti-narcotics operations across Kashmir.
Officials said the disposal was conducted through a scientific and secure incineration process, ensuring compliance with legal procedures and environmental safety standards.
The exercise was supervised by the Drug Disposal Committee, headed by Abdul Waheed Shah, with senior officials including Kubra Nazir and Abdul Bari present to oversee the process.
Authorities said the move reflects the continued efforts of law enforcement agencies to prevent the circulation of illegal drugs and strengthen the fight against drug trafficking in the region.
The initiative is also aligned with the government’s Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, aimed at curbing substance abuse, dismantling narcotics networks and promoting a drug-free society.
