SRINAGAR DEC 31: Security forces have implemented multi-layered security arrangements across Kashmir Valley tourist hotspots ahead of New Year celebrations, with intensified checking and patrolling at key locations.
Officials said significant deployment of personnel has been made at major tourist destinations, along with additional checkpoints at entry points and thorough vehicle searches in Srinagar to prevent any untoward incidents.
Area domination operations, surprise inspections, and night-time vigilance have been strengthened across vital roadways and venues hosting New Year events. High alertness is being maintained at crowded spots, cable car terminals, forest tracks, and access routes.
Inspector General of Police (Kashmir Zone) V K Birdi reviewed security preparedness last week, directing officers to complete all arrangements in advance and maintain strict vigilance against potential threats during the festive period.
