Srinagar, Dec 18: PDP president Mehbooba Mufti appealed to Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah Thursday to reverse the allocation of prime fertile land in Pulwama’s Pochal village for a BSF security camp, warning it threatens villagers’ livelihoods amid central village location. Visiting the site with Pulwama MLA Waheed Para, Mufti pressed reporters: “This productive soil sustains families—offer BSF barren alternatives instead.”
Mufti called on Omar to safeguard public interests, pledging to escalate to the Defence Minister. She accused post-rejection demolitions of PDP’s protective land Bill—dismissed by Abdullah as aiding “land grabbers”—of heightening fears, linking intensified actions to vulnerability.
