Mohali, June 5: A 30-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed to death by her former boyfriend inside a private company’s office in Mohali’s Sector 66, Punjab, in a shocking incident that was reportedly captured on CCTV cameras. The accused later attempted suicide by repeatedly slashing his own throat with the same weapon.
The victim, identified as Dimple, was working at her desk when the accused, Harvinder Mann alias Harry, entered the office and allegedly attacked her from behind. Police said the accused chased the woman as she tried to escape and stabbed her multiple times despite efforts by colleagues to intervene. Reports indicate she suffered more than 20 stab wounds.
Investigators believe the attack was linked to a failed relationship. The two had reportedly been in a relationship for several years before breaking up around six months ago. Police said the accused had been trying to reconcile, but the woman had refused his advances.
Both were rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared the woman dead. The accused remains in critical condition and is under treatment. Police have seized CCTV footage and launched a detailed investigation into the case.
