Paris, June 19 : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday held talks with leading French business executives in Paris, focusing on investment opportunities and expanding cooperation across key sectors, including shipping, logistics, railways, construction, and artificial intelligence.
Among those he met were CMA CGM Chairman and CEO Rodolphe Saade, Saint-Gobain Chairman and CEO Benoit Bazin, Alstom CEO Martin Sion, and Mistral AI co-founder and CEO Arthur Mensch. Discussions centered on strengthening economic ties and boosting investments in India.
According to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the Prime Minister highlighted India’s growing role in global supply chains and welcomed expansion plans by French companies in areas such as shipbuilding, logistics, sustainable construction, railway modernisation, and AI innovation.
Addressing the Indian diaspora in Paris, Modi said India is emerging as a “trusted partner” for the world and is investing in sectors that will shape future growth and innovation. He stressed that trust, stability, and long-term partnerships are becoming increasingly important in a world facing uncertainty.
Modi, who attended the G7 Summit in France, said the India-France relationship has evolved into a Special Global Strategic Partnership and announced that the two countries will launch the TRISHNA satellite next year to support global water and food security.
Highlighting India’s transformation over the past 12 years, the Prime Minister said the country is witnessing rapid economic and social progress, driven by the aspirations of its youth, farmers, and women.
