Delhi, Mar 27: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, along with a delegation of Kashmiri religious leaders, visited the Iranian embassy in Delhi to offer condolences over the killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and express solidarity with Iran. The delegation, which includes Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Mufti Sahib, Agha Sahib, Hadi Sahib, and other senior clerics, described the visit as a gesture of grief and political solidarity on behalf of the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
Speaking after the visit, Mirwaiz said the group had come to convey the condolences of the people of Jammu & Kashmir over the “martyrdom” of the Iranian leader. He added that the delegation also wanted to make it clear that the people of Jammu & Kashmir stand firmly with Iran against what they described as ongoing “oppression and brutality” in the region.
The move underscores growing attempts by Kashmir-based religious leaders to align with Iran’s position amid the Middle East crisis, while reiterating their stance on issues of regional oppression and resistance.
