Kargil: In a remarkable display of service and courage, personnel of Police Post Minamarg successfully carried out a snow clearance and rescue operation at the strategic Zojila Pass, ensuring the safe movement of vehicles stranded due to heavy snowfall.
The operation was led by Sub-Inspector Fayaz Ahmed, along with dedicated police personnel who responded promptly as severe weather conditions caused snow accumulation and disrupted traffic flow along the vital Srinagar–Leh highway stretch.
According to officials, several vehicles had been stuck at Zojila Pass as heavy snow blocked portions of the road, creating difficulties for travelers and transporters. The Minamarg police team immediately swung into action, clearing snow-covered sections and guiding stranded vehicles to move safely, preventing further disruption and ensuring public safety.
The timely intervention not only eased traffic congestion but also provided relief to commuters facing harsh winter conditions in the high-altitude region.
This effort once again reflects the unwavering commitment of District Police Kargil towards public service, especially in challenging terrains and extreme weather situations. The Ladakh Police continue to uphold their motto of “Service & Courage,” standing by the people in times of need.
