SRINAGAR, Jul 28: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast widespread light to moderate rain and thundershowers across Jammu and Kashmir over the next four days, with heavy rainfall likely in parts of the Jammu division.

According to the MeT Department, many areas across the Union Territory are expected to witness one or two spells of rain or thundershowers on July 28 and 29, particularly during the early morning and late afternoon to evening hours. Heavy rain and brief intense showers are likely at a few places in the Jammu region.

For July 30 and 31, the weather office has predicted light to moderate rain and thundershowers at most places in the Kashmir division, with isolated locations likely to receive brief but intense showers.

The MeT Department said night temperatures remained above normal across Jammu and Kashmir, with Gulmarg recording the lowest minimum temperature in the Kashmir Valley at 11.4 degrees Celsius.

The department has advised residents, tourists and travellers to follow weather advisories issued by the administration and avoid vulnerable areas prone to landslides, flash floods and waterlogging during the forecast period.
