SRINAGAR, March 9: The Meteorological Department forecast generally cloudy skies over Jammu and Kashmir on March 9, with light rain and snow likely at scattered higher reaches, urging caution amid fresh winter-like conditions just after schools reopened across the Kashmir Valley.
March 10-11 will bring light to moderate rain and snow at many places, including potential moderate snowfall in Kupwara, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Anantnag, and Kishtwar districts, possibly causing temporary traffic disruptions on key passes.
Thunder and gusty winds up to 40 kmph may accompany the wet spell through March 11.
Farmers have been advised to suspend operations during March 10-12 due to the inclement weather.
Day temperatures are set to drop 4-6°C post-March 9, followed by generally dry conditions from March 12-15, then cloudy spells with isolated light rain/snow on March 16-18
