SRINAGAR, Jul 28: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Tuesday reviewed the condition of pilgrims injured in the road accident at Ganiwan in Ganderbal district and directed health authorities to ensure the best possible medical care for all those undergoing treatment.
The Lieutenant Governor spoke with the Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal, and senior health officials to assess the situation after the accident involving a bus carrying Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra pilgrims.
According to the LG, 39 pilgrims, who were returning after paying obeisance at the Holy Cave Shrine of Baba Barfani, sustained injuries and are currently undergoing treatment at the Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS).
Sinha instructed health officials to provide timely treatment, comprehensive medical care and all necessary assistance to the injured pilgrims. He also directed the administration to closely monitor their condition and extend every possible support to the devotees and their families.
Expressing concern over the incident, the Lieutenant Governor prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured.
“Spoke with Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal and health officials and inquired about the health condition of Shri Amarnathji Yatra pilgrims injured in the unfortunate road accident at Ganiwan. I have directed the health officials to ensure all necessary assistance and the best possible medical care. I pray to Lord Shiva for the speedy recovery of the injured devotees,” Sinha said in a post on X.
Officials said the administration is continuously monitoring the situation, while doctors at SKIMS are providing round-the-clock treatment to ensure the early recovery of the injured pilgrims.
