Srinagar, Jul 18: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday reviewed the situation following the road accident involving a Shri Amarnath Yatra convoy vehicle near Jakhani in Udhampur district and directed officials to ensure the best possible medical treatment for the injured pilgrims.
According to officials, the Lieutenant Governor spoke with Udhampur Deputy Commissioner Minga Sherpa and medical authorities to assess the condition of those injured in the accident. He instructed senior officials to provide all necessary assistance and ensure quality medical care for their speedy recovery.
In a post on X, Sinha said that five pilgrims from Uttar Pradesh and the vehicle’s driver from Ganderbal sustained injuries in the accident and are undergoing treatment at Government Medical College (GMC), Udhampur.
“Spoke with the Deputy Commissioner of Udhampur and medical officials and inquired about the health condition of Shri Amarnathji Yatra pilgrims injured in the unfortunate road accident near Jakhani, Udhampur earlier this morning. Senior officials have been directed to ensure all necessary assistance and the best possible medical care is provided for their swift recovery,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
He also prayed for the safety, well-being and smooth conduct of the annual pilgrimage, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
