JAMMU: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday called upon residents of towns and villages along Jammu Division’s riverbanks to organize daily or weekly evening aartis in collaboration with local communities.
Attending the Shri Raghunath Ji’s Jammu Aarti organized by ‘Shri Raghunath Ji Ki Jammu Aarti Sanstha’, Sinha stated that the light from aarti lamps would awaken society to its rich culture and connect the youth with sacred scriptures.
He described the evening aarti as a soul discipline, an offering of devotion, and a meditative moment to rediscover inner wealth amid modern life’s pace.
Sinha highlighted efforts to position Jammu, the City of Temples, as a global spiritual hub and key tourism destination. He noted that aartis at Raghunath Temple would let pilgrims of Mata Vaishno Devi and Amarnath experience the region’s spiritual radiance, boosting the local economy.
The LG emphasized that such rituals foster self-realization and help the younger generation inherit a legacy of inner treasure, not just material wealth. Dr. Ritu Singh, Chairperson of the sanstha, office bearers, and devotees were present.
