Jammu, Mar 26: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has invited public suggestions for the establishment of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board’s (SMVDSB) first‑of‑its‑kind International Goddess Museum at Katra. The museum is envisioned as a unique global spiritual landmark, with members of the public encouraged to visit the official portal www.smvdsbimog.org to share ideas and feedback.
Designed as an immersive destination, the museum will feature state‑of‑the‑art digital installations, interactive galleries, thematic exhibitions, and light‑and‑sound presentations. The Lieutenant Governor said the project is expected to boost religious tourism and support local economic development in the region.
“Special emphasis will be laid on promoting traditional handicrafts, including sculpture‑making and artistic replicas inspired by the shrine and the broader Shakti tradition,” Sinha said. Dedicated spaces will showcase artisans’ work, host live demonstrations, and encourage indigenous art forms. By blending scholarly research with innovative storytelling, the museum aims to serve both devotees and knowledge seekers, reflecting the Shrine Board’s commitment to preserving heritage and presenting India’s timeless traditions in a modern, globally relevant format.
