WAYANAD (Kerala), Jul 7: A major landslide struck a tunnel road project site at Kalladi near Meppady in Kerala’s Wayanad district on Tuesday, raising fears that several workers may be trapped beneath the debris, officials said.
The incident occurred near Meenakshi Bridge, where construction was underway on the tunnel road project connecting Malappuram and Wayanad districts.
Fire and Rescue Services personnel from Kalpetta rushed to the site, and search and rescue operations were launched to trace and rescue those feared trapped under the debris.
Officials are yet to confirm the number of people affected. Further details are awaited.
