Nyoma, Aug 03: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), SKUAST-K Nyoma, in collaboration with the Agriculture Department Nyoma, organized a live webcast of the release of the 20th instalment of the PM-KISAN scheme on 2nd August 2025.
The event was held at KVK Nyoma and witnessed the participation of around 82 farmers and beneficiaries from various villages of the Nyoma block.
The Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the farming community of the nation through the live telecast.
Present at the event were Dr. Phuntsog Tundup, Head KVK Nyoma; Mrs. Rinchen Angmo, Agriculture Extension Officer Nyoma; Nambardar Mudh; members from local villages; and staff from both the KVK and Agriculture Department.
Dr. Tundup and Mrs. Angmo interacted with the farmers, providing a detailed overview of the PM-KISAN scheme in the local language.
Post-event, scientists and officers engaged with the farmers to discuss agricultural challenges specific to the region.
The programme concluded with Hi-tea and lunch served to all participants.
Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) is a flagship scheme launched by the Government of India to provide income support to all landholding farmer families across the country. Under the scheme, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 annually in three equal instalments directly into their bank accounts to ensure timely support for agricultural needs and household expenses.
