Malappuram: Kerala Chief Minister V D Satheesan has said the UDF government will take steps to establish a memorial for Mohammed Ali Shihab Thangal, the late state president of the Congress ally IUML.
Satheesan said the memorial would preserve Thangal’s legacy and honour his contributions.
The CM made the announcement on Saturday while addressing an event held here to mark the 17th death anniversary of the late Indian Union Muslim League leader.
Mohammed Ali Shihab Thangal died on August 1, 2009.
He was succeeded as the IUML’s state president by his brother, Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal.
