HIRANAGAR, Dec 24: Hiranagar Police achieved a major breakthrough against Pakistan-based narcotics trafficking by arresting the fifth accused in a sophisticated drone-based heroin smuggling operation active along Kathua district’s international border.
Acting on intelligence under SSP Kathua Mohit Sharma’s supervision, police apprehended Siraj Din alias Saraju, son of Ali Hussain from Bishnah, Jammu, recovering 25 grams of heroin, a sharp-edged weapon (toka), and three pistol rounds. The arrest connects to FIR No. 107/25, registered after authorities seized approximately 400 grams of drone-dropped Pakistani heroin near village Chhann Tanda at the border.
SP (Operations) Kathua Mukund Tibrewal, DSP Border Dheeraj Katoch, and SHO Hiranagar Ashish are leading the probe, which has already resulted in four arrests across Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab. Combined recoveries include ₹5 lakh cash and 414 grams of heroin, with Siraj Din identified as the primary receiver and street-level distributor. Multiple raids are underway at his suspected locations to expose additional network connections.
SSP Sharma emphasized Kathua Police’s zero-tolerance policy toward narco-trafficking, urging public cooperation in reporting drug smuggling activities. Officials confirmed ongoing operations to dismantle cross-border drug mafias will continue with strict enforcement measures targeting the Pakistan-linked aerial narcotics network.
