Khaltse, Apr 8: A multi-department outreach programme under the banner “Jung-sJabs” was organised at Kanji village in Khaltse sub-division on Tuesday, bringing a range of administrative, health and financial services directly to residents while providing a platform for addressing local concerns.
The programme witnessed participation from officials across departments, including Revenue, Animal and Sheep Husbandry, Health, Agriculture, District Social Welfare Department Leh, Irrigation and Flood Control, Public Health Engineering, and J&K Bank.
Naib Tehsildar Wanla, Phuntsog Namgail, and Block Medical Officer Khaltse, Dr. Shamim Ahmed, were present during the programme, along with officials from various line departments.
Addressing the gathering, Namgail outlined the objectives of the outreach initiative, underscoring the need for improved delivery of public services and direct engagement with citizens. Officials from participating departments briefed residents about government welfare schemes and interacted with them to address queries and record grievances related to local development.
Several services were delivered on the spot during the programme. The Revenue Department issued Ladakh Resident Certificates along with electoral and revenue extracts. The Health Department conducted screenings for non-communicable diseases, while the Animal and Sheep Husbandry Department distributed cattle feed. The Agriculture Department provided vegetable seeds to beneficiaries.
Financial services were also extended through J&K Bank, which facilitated access to car loans, Kisan Credit Cards, personal loans, recurring and fixed deposits, insurance, and CKYC registration. Aadhaar updation services were also carried out for residents during the programme.
Officials said the outreach initiative aims to strengthen last-mile delivery of services and enhance awareness about government schemes, particularly in remote areas of the region.
