JAMMU, SEPTEMBER 26: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) today organized an Anti-Rabies Vaccination Drive at the Municipal Animal Care Centre, Roop Nagar, as part of its ongoing efforts to prevent the spread of rabies and promote responsible animal care in Jammu city. The programme was conducted in the presence of Animal Welfare Officer Dr. Gaurav Chaudhary and Veterinary Assistant Surgeon Dr. Divya Sharma.
During the drive, more than 50 dogs were successfully vaccinated against rabies. The vaccination campaign will continue for the next two days, providing residents an opportunity to get stray dogs from their respective areas vaccinated free of cost.
JMC has appealed to the residents of Jammu to actively participate in the campaign and bring stray dogs from their neighbourhoods to the Municipal Animal Care Centre, Roop Nagar, for free anti-rabies vaccination.
The Corporation, in collaboration with the Health Department, is committed to strengthening measures for rabies prevention and working towards a rabies-free Jammu. JMC emphasized that active public participation is essential for effective control of rabies and urged citizens to come forward and support the initiative.
Through coordinated efforts of the civic body, Health Department and the public, JMC aims to ensure a safer, healthier and more compassionate environment for both citizens and animals.
