Jammu, Dec 29: The Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission on Monday presented its 66th Annual Report for 2024–25 to the Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Lok Bhavan, Jammu.
The report was handed over by a delegation of Commission members led by JKPSC Chairman Arun Kumar Choudhary. Other members present included Dr Rajiv Singh, Tariq Ahmad Zargar, Yashpal Kotwal and Asaf Mehmood Sagar.
The submission of the report was made in accordance with Article 323(2) of the Constitution of India, which mandates annual reporting on the functioning of Public Service Commissions.
According to official sources, the report gives a detailed account of the Commission’s work during the year, covering recruitment processes, Departmental Promotion Committee meetings, promotions granted, and approval of recruitment rules for various government departments.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha appreciated the JKPSC for maintaining integrity in its operations and for conducting recruitment in a fair, merit-based and transparent manner. He also stressed the importance of timely completion of selection processes to meet administrative requirements.
During the interaction, Chairman Arun Kumar Choudhary briefed the Lieutenant Governor on the steps taken to strengthen the recruitment system. He highlighted the use of technology to improve communication with candidates, including a proposed SMS alert system to keep aspirants informed at different stages of the selection process.
The Annual Report also reflects efforts made by the Commission to improve efficiency and streamline procedures in line with evolving administrative needs.
