JAMMU, JAN 17: The Jammu and Kashmir Cricket Association (JKCA) conducted its much-anticipated Election 2025 during a Special General Meeting (SGM) at the JKCA Office in Pavilion Building, Hostel Ground, Jammu, marking the first such general body meeting since the adoption of the association’s new constitution.
According to an official handout from JKCA, the meeting focused on electing five key office bearers and two councillors to the Apex Council. Out of the 22 General Body members, 18 attended to meet the required quorum, while representatives from four clubs remained absent. All proceedings adhered strictly to the provisions of the newly adopted JKCA Constitution, ensuring transparency and compliance.
Brig Anil Gupta (Retd), JKCA Member Administration, opened the session by warmly welcoming the attending members and setting a collaborative tone for the electoral process.
Electoral Officer AK Joti addressed the house, providing a detailed briefing on the Supreme Court order dated January 8, 2026, which explicitly permitted the conduct of the elections. However, the declaration of results has been temporarily withheld pending further judicial directives.
This election represents a pivotal milestone for JKCA, signaling a new era of structured governance following the constitutional reforms. Cricket enthusiasts and stakeholders across Jammu and Kashmir await the outcome, which could shape the association’s leadership and strategic direction in the coming years.
