Jammu, Mar 8: Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh celebrated J&K’s cricket heroes at a special lunch Sunday, hailing their Ranji Trophy upset over mighty Karnataka as proof of a massive youth confidence boom under PM Modi’s reforms.
He said ditching Article 370 opened doors—scrapping job interview biases let kids from remote villages and even a laborer’s visually challenged son crack civil services on pure merit, shattering old “sifarish” (nepotism) barriers.
Sports too got fair play: J&K cricket went from pushovers to powerhouses, mirroring startup wins like lavender farming that’s turning rural youth into entrepreneurs—now copied by hill states like Himachal and Uttarakhand.
“No more elite-only zones,” Singh beamed, urging youngsters to chase dreams in sports, jobs, or business. Team captain Paras Dogra and coach Ajay Sharma joined the felicitation, souvenirs in hand.
